Frequently Asked Questions

How long have you been established?

The Garden Kingdom Mastery Academy opened its doors in the Fall of 2017. See “Our School” page for more information.

What grades does The Garden Kingdom Mastery Academy offer?

KMA offers open enrollment for grades K-8. KMA does use grade leveling to help guide mastery of curricula as well as group placements, however, students are allowed to move through mastery of concepts at their own pace and are not bound by grade levels.

Is The Garden Kingdom Mastery Academy accredited?

KMA plans to apply for accreditation in the future through SAIS (Serving and Accrediting Independent Schools). Though we are not accredited at this time, we do follow all accreditation standards, as well as The State Board of Education standards. KMA strives to serve students and our community with the highest standards in stewarding what the Lord has placed in our hands.

Does The Garden Kingdom Mastery Academy receive funding from the state or the U.S. government?

In order to not have state or federal mandates on our curriculum, spiritual beliefs, the requirement of STAAR testing, or other mandates, we do not receive State or Federal funding. KMA is an independent education entity which is solely funded by student tuition and private donors. See our “Support us” page for giving opportunities.

Does The Garden Kingdom Mastery Academy administer the STAAR test to students?

As stated above, since KMA does not receive state or federal funds, we do not use the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness. We do believe that our students must have academic, spiritual, and  life skills to prepare them for their destiny. To ensure that our students are prepared, and to individualize curriculum, KMA students are given formative, summative, and standardized tests throughout the school year.

Are all teachers at the Garden Kingdom Mastery Academy certified?

Most accreditation organizations require that all teachers be degreed. Since the founding of KMA, we have been blessed in having the majority of our staff and volunteers being certified, as well as some teacher aides that have a bachelor's degree.

What do The Garden Kingdom Mastery Academy students do for meals?

KMA does not provide meals for students. Students are to bring their lunch that does not require to be heated or can be easily heated in a microwave.  Students are also allowed to bring breakfast and snacks, if they choose.

KMA volunteers are available to heat lunch meals.

What do The Garden Kingdom Mastery Academy students do for physical activity?

KMA does provide daily outside time. Weather permitting, we are able to utilize our playground and parking lot. Students partake in physical activity inside when weather does not permit. Although KMA does not have a physical education or an athletics program, we have many community resources to connect parents and students to.

How can The Garden Kingdom Mastery Academy parents and community members volunteer?

KMA Staff welcome parent involvement and volunteer work. We believe that The Garden KMA is a family and we want to foster the culture and support of  family love in our school. Children thrive when parents, staff, and community are involved in their school work. It provides them with joy, acceptance, and a safe place that isn’t always possible in other school settings. Family is what the Lord intended for all of us. We believe that open communication is vital to this success. Please see our “Parent” page for volunteer opportunities and reach out to our staff.

How much is the monthly tuition at The Garden Kingdom Mastery Academy?

Monthly Tuition for KMA students is $400/ month.  All students also are required to pay an annual online course fee of $250. Tuition rates may change per year. Please reach out to us if you are interested in more information pertaining to admission.
